Duties

Serve as a Senior Logistician and Technical Manager for the Army Field Support Battalion (AFSBn) or Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB) in Current Operations. Advise the AFSBn or AFSB leadership and staff, and subordinate elements on technical program matters of current operations. Represent the Commanding General by serving as the AMC focal point for major field commanders and their commands. Maintain a continuous working relationship and interfaces with field commanders and the national (wholesale) logistics community. Provide for logistics advice, assistance, and training for all echelons in all logistics areas. Analyze effectiveness of activity associated with wholesale and retail logistics systems and the life cycle management of equipment, weapons systems, communication systems, and materiel for assigned mission areas. Responsible for sustaining and improving logistics support and readiness of Army materiel in the field environment through expert knowledge and training

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance of access for the duration of employment which includes a background investigation and credit check.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential." Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status. You must be exempt from military recall status.
  • In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, you must continue to perform the duties of the position to ensure the success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems subsequent to mobilization/evacuation order.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 25% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
  • Position may require temporary duty of any length including 6 months in duration or longer in CONUS or OCONUS in austere locations.
  • This is a deployable DA Civilian position, incumbent must pass an initial and annual medical examination and receive/maintain up-to-date immunization for the overseas or deployed location.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work extended hours during training exercises and may be required to live and work in field conditions.
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete 40 hours of on-line computer based training and residential deployment training.
