You will serve as a Technician in the Surface Energy System Branch, Power and Energy Systems Division, Special Warfare & Expeditionary Systems Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13/14.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
Duties
You will serve as the Senior Lead Technician (SLT) and Process Supervisor.
You will work within the Surface Energy Systems Branch and support the analysis, reverse engineering, repair of fleet systems such as Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Power Supplies, Frequency Converters, Circuit Card repair and other fleet systems.
You will provide technical and program support expertise to aid in development and sustainment of new or improved systems or equipment.
You will review and provide expert guidance on all Surface Energy Systems technical and programmatic documentation (to include program plans, standard operating procedures, supplemental documents, test plans, and drawing packages).
You will oversee the calibration process, including maintaining the calibration schedule, evaluating calibration tolerances for various equipment items, and maintaining awareness of changes in calibration costs.
You will maintain the laboratory Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring that all tasking is completed correctly, safely, and on time per customer requirements.
You will provide input to task leads for labor aspects of cost estimates for incoming workload, based on historical outcomes and changes to testing processes.
You will maintain and continuously improve the operator certification process, and actively support the command explosive ordnance and NAVOSH programs through safe performance, hazard reporting, and monitoring of workplace conditions.
You will ensure that safety, OM and S, 6S, and housekeeping tasks are completed on schedule.
You will maintain the assigned lab space, including transport of battery assets to and from storage locations and develop plans for our support personnel to execute the workload.
You will interface with personnel across the Power and Energy Division, NAVSEA, program offices, and contracting partners as required.
You will provide guidance and training for operator qualification certification and explosive qualification certification, and maintain associated certification documentation for lab personnel.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing, developing, and utilizing engineering methods and procedures to assess and repair varying power systems for the DoD.
