You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the Spectrum Warfare Systems Department (WX), Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division (WXM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Duties

You will manage and supervise the Integrated Modernization Support Section of the Maritime Electronic Warfare Division. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership with respect to the integration of Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems (MEWS). You will provide technical guidance, help develop requirements, and develop plans to meet those future needs. You will perform required administrative duties including setting employee performance standards, evaluating employee work performance, resolving complaints, timekeeping, affecting disciplinary actions as necessary.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering leadership and guidance on test and evaluation projects to assist in the execution of installation or maintenance and repair of shipboard electronic warfare systems or subsystems to support technological advancement and sustainment of the fleet.
