Duties
You will be an active participant in providing In Service Engineering support and representation of the Minor Caliber Guns Branch (Code G32).
You will be responsible for providing oversight and direction to the depots as they accomplish the overhaul for guns, gun mounts, gun fire control systems and NAVSEA managed components that support these systems.
You will participate as a NAVSEA Minor Caliber In Service Engineering Group member and contribute to the team.
You will provide technical support during the material condition assessment, removal/re-installation, repair, overhaul, and conversion of NAVSEA Minor Caliber Guns weapon systems.
You will be responsible for supporting the GWSRP Project Leads during all aspects of the program throughout the Navy.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Incumbent is regularly exposed to the hazard of vibration, high heat, cold, explosives, gun fire, HAZMAT, electric shock, pressurized gas and fluids, trips/falls, drowning.
- Incumbent will regularly be climbing, crouching, bending and lifting of approximately 50 lb.
- You will work aboard small craft, Naval ships, and aircrafts.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-3 (GS-9/10 equivalent grade level), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing technical engineering methods and procedures while overseeing or performing the overhaul, installation, repair, removal, and modernization of shipboard guns or shipboard gun weapon systems to ensure operational readiness.
