Duties

Prepares system documentation for assignments in accordance with Federal, agency, major command, and local standards. Reviews proposals for change which consist of objectives, scope, and users' expectations for GOTS and/or COTS solutions primarily with Microsoft 0365 and SharePoint, Prepares testing and implementation plans. Provides consultation and instruction to functional area users on GOTS and COTS solutions, database and file accessing techniques, trouble shooting, problem resolution and testing techniques. Performs in-depth analysis of automated and manual system to accomplish design and programming assignments. You will monitor staff IT issues, submit work tickets, and work to resolve issues pertaining to network access, software needs, and hardware.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position and aligns with DOD Manual 8140.03 for specialty area 722 (Information Systems Security Manager) at the intermediate level.

Qualifications

GS-11: In addition to the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge in software, hardware, database management and interactive and distributive processing to conduct studies and perform analysis of system test operations and procedures and analysis and review requirements for overall conduct of projects; 2) Troubleshooting and resolving Information Technology (IT) technical problems; 3) Monitoring/evaluating systems' compliance with Information Technology (IT) security requirements and policies; 4) Identifying and documenting program requirements for specific needs of customers; 5) Communicating with officials and customers to provide training and support. Education

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.

Successful completion of 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution

NOTE: The education listed above must be a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or network
