You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT) in the IT DIVISION of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND.

Duties

You will investigate reported problems in software and information technology (IT) equipment. You will modify operating system software applications to enhance existing systems. You will install software on networks to support the development of information systems. You will diagnose issues with application software to implement solutions to problems. You will brief information technology (IT) customers on organizational policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (411 TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST), proficiency level (BASIC) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying IT security principles, methods and procedures for documenting resolutions; 2 Utilizing and applying knowledge of software (i.e. word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, database management systems, and communications) to produce a wide range of documents, incorporate data from different software applications, or update databases and spreadsheets;3) Analyzing data to troubleshoot problems, evaluate established methods and procedures, and perform analytical functions; and 4) Applying the organizations' mission, IT concepts, communication techniques, and analytical reasoning sufficient to participate in the development of IT goals, objectives, plans, and policies. AND Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education


In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or
  • Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
