You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (Customer Service) in the Bureau of Naval Personnel (Bupers) of TSC GREAT LAKES.

Duties

You will Diagnose an organization's failed data management system. You will document results of a performance assessment to advise on findings. You will analyze network information to measure performance and system utilization. You will partner with system administrators to minimize system downtime. You will gather information technology (IT) supporting plans, designs, programming and engineering documentation for an IT program.

Requirements

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

  • Training and certifications must be maintained in accordance with requirements after initial completion.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Customer Service and Technical Support (DCWF Work Role Code 411).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining hardware, software systems to ensure availability, reliability, and optimum performance; 2) Preparing documentation to transfer command plant property to contractor, in addition to collecting statistical data on contractor performance and delivery; 3) Assisting in maintaining problem tracking and resolution database and assists end users in interfacing with the vendor; and 4) Validating that delivery of services aligns with approved task orders. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary, however some work may require walking, lifting, carrying, reaching and standing. May be required to travel in order to attend meetings, and conferences away from the local area. The position requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. Work Environment: The majority of the work is performed in a typical office setting. The work environment includes everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Special safety precautions, when required will be briefed by the supervisor. Any applicable safety equipment over and above normal office attire will be provided.

Education

Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
