You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Power and Energy Systems Division (JXM), Undersea & Surface Energy Systems Branch (JXMT) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).
The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
Duties
You will serve as Lead for the Submarine Battery Fleet Support Engagement Section in the Power and Energy Systems Division.
You will lead/coordinate multiple technical projects related to Submarine Battery acquisition, logistics, performance evaluation, qualification and safety/abuse testing, and full life-cycle support.
You will work directly with the battery manufacturers to resolve any submarine battery issues.
You will be required to manage up to 15 team members, overseeing all tasking efforts, funding requests and is the primary point of contact for sponsors.
You will provide quarterly reviews and travel to meet with sponsors and vendors on a routine basis.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- You must be willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 70 pounds in weight.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and utilizing technical engineering methods and procedures to assess submarine battery performance and provide technical recommendations on improvement and to maintain battery performance for operational readiness of power and energy systems.
