About the Position: Serves as a Police Record Clerk, performing a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support of the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
Duties
Revise deficiencies found in incoming, unedited, and uncoded draft law enforcement reports (LER).
Prepare reports for all Crime Records Center (CRC) reportable crimes and repeat offenses.
Serve as the Post Debarment, and revocation and suspension of installation driving privileges clerk for Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
Advise commands on taking appropriate actions regarding suspenses.
Serve as the expert point of contact to variety of customers to DA civilian police officers.
Assist walk-in visitors and telephone callers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees may be required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires access to criminal history information. The employees must maintain State and Federal training in accessing, safeguarding, processing, and disseminating protected information.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) performing clerical functions in support of emergency service such as Police, Fire, Search and Rescue, Security, and/or Medical; and (2) operating office automation systems to perform administrative and clerical work such as record keeping and report preparation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
