About the Position:
Ft Eisenhower is in Augusta, Georgia, home of the Masters Golf Tournament, and the Cyber Center of Excellence. It is approximately 142 miles east of Atlanta, 80 miles southwest of Columbia, South Carolina, and 122 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia.
Duties
Responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled range and training land maintenance support for live fire and small arms ranges, and training facilities.
Performs PMCS inspections on various vehicles to support daily range missions.
Responsible for the workflow and directing communications to appropriate action officer.
Controls live-fire activities associated with assigned ranges and range facilities.
Inspects and troubleshoots electrical pop-up target mechanisms.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a valid state Drivers License in one of the 50 U.S. states.
- Requires a Tier 1 National Agency Check with written inquiries (NACI)
- Position requires working of extended work hours and shift work.
- This position requires incumbent to possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using several types of equipment (weaponry, artillery, mobile vehicles, aircraft, etc), understanding the mission of the unit (combat, tactical, etc), the various roles of the participants in terms of primary and support assignments (e.g., rifleman, gunnery, medic, military police, supply, crewman, etc) and the types of support (training aids, targets, devices, etc) that is essential to the safe conduct of simulated battlefield training exercises; using automated information management systems and equipment (computer hardware and software) to access, produce, transmit, process, store, retrieve and/or manipulate data in the proper format. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
