About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst who, in addition to providing guidance and assistance to lower graded employees, has staff responsibility for planning, programming, budgeting, executing, and evaluating assigned programs.
Duties
Serves as senior Budget Analyst responsible for managing budget for government programs such as research and development, missile and aviation procurement, and weapons systems.
Prepares reports and conducts special studies for use in briefings and presentations or for use by key personnel within the organization.
Responsible for utilizing accounting systems to troubleshoot problems, provide solutions, and perform budget execution duties.
Executes improved budget methods, procedures, and justification used in controlling program authority and funding.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires a Financial Management Certification: FMC02, FM certificate level 2 designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, public law 112-81 within 24 months of entry on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) managing budget execution activities for a variety of programs, 2) analyzing budgetary policies and directives for briefing officials, 3) inspecting budget estimates for completeness and adherence to specific guidance, and 4) conducting research for use in briefings by key personnel.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Education
