This position is located in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Information Services Business Applications & Solutions Division (BASD), Branch as assigned. The division's mission is to deliver high quality business applications and solutions for the Bureau of the Fiscal Service program offices, and key business partners and customers.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist (APPSW), you will:
Exercise delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of a major program segment (development, delivery, and support of business applications and solutions).
Establish program goals and objectives and develop and approve multi-year and long-range work plans and policies, as well as manage the overall work to enhance achievement of the Branch's goals and objectives.
Represent the Branch and the Division on IT program initiatives, committees, and study efforts pertaining to assigned program area, services, and operations; and, provide liaison and pertinent information to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is performing IT work that involves leading or supervising a team that leverages broadly adopted programming languages, frameworks, and modern technologies and services (e.g. cloud) to build robust, scalable, and efficient software and data solutions, ensures scalability and security best practices are incorporated in software and data design, follows DevSecOps principles and practices, and adheres to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); and coordinating new IT initiatives and maintenance operations to meet office and bureau strategic objectives.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
