This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will hold the position of the Deputy Chief, Force Rotation Branch and reports directly to the Chief, Future Sourcing Branch or in his absence, the joint force coordinator (JFC) Division Chief.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY FORCE ROTATION SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Coordinates initial and successive training for all personnel, both active and reserve component on Global Force Management (GFM) and Joint Force Coordinator (JFC) programs and processes.
Directs the development, review, and analysis of operational availability and readiness requirements of conventional forces in support of the Joint Staff JFC responsibilities and functions.
Provides interpretation and enforcement guidance related to senior U.S. Government planning documents such as the Unified Command Plan (UCP), the joint Strategic Capabilities Plan (JSCP), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and various Joint Staff publication, instructions and manuals.
Manages and leads the effort for the development, staffing, and submission of future conventional forces rotational sourcing plans in support of Combatant Commander force requirements world-wide.
Supervises internal employees in addition to being indirectly responsible for an additional twenty Joint Working Group (JWG) Lead Action Officers who have functional reporting requirements to the Chief and Deputy.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Providing oversight of planned operations, training, contingencies, and exercises for Force management.
Providing interpretation and enforcement guidance related to senior planning documents related to Global Force Management.
Conducting indoctrination training for active and reserve officers.
Developing and issuing guidance in response to legislative changes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
