This position is located in the Collections Division, National Library Service Blind/Print Disabled, Library Collections and Services Group. The position description number for this position is 060641. This is a non-supervisory, bargaining unit position. The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.

Duties

The Quality Assurance Specialist (Recorded Products) serves as an authority on the artistic. technical, and human factor elements required for controlled production of spoken word recordings, formulates and maintains quality control objectives for the various contracts with recording studios and multistate centers to insure continuous production of digital recorded books and magazines for the National Library Service.

Qualifications

Ability to perform recorded products quality control inspections.** Ability to plan, develop, evaluate, and coordinate a comprehensive quality assurance program.** Ability to monitor quality control operations.** Ability to communicate effectively in writing and present information orally. Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
