This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Associate Director - Quality. As a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be performing Quality Assurance tasks associated with the Control of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment and Instruments, maintaining data storage systems, programs, and techniques necessary to ensure the calibration of those instruments for the production of the highest quality products.
Duties
As a Lead Quality Assurance Specialist, you will:
Perform complex, detailed testing and analysis to determine if instruments are defective and to determine the effectiveness of quality and calibration processes.
Perform experimental Design of Experiments (DOE) testing to determine possible root cause analysis and correct and weaknesses in methods or materials.
Assist Calibration Manager in providing technical direction and coordinating the Calibration Program staff priorities and work schedules.
Assist Calibration Manager in assigning work to staff members, determining appropriate manpower utilization resources for each project, coordinating, and assures compliance with completion dates.
Review staff's work for conformance to governing laws, policies, and standards.
Assist Calibration Manager in assigning work based on priorities and selective consideration of the demands of the work and the capabilities of employees; advises and instructs employees on both work and administrative matters; identifies developmental and training needs of program staff, as well as provides and or makes provisions for such development and training.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
- Performing calibration of manufacturing equipment; AND
- Experience with Quality Assurance practices and principles in the calibration and certification of manufacturing equipment; AND
- Experience with the planning, conducting, documentation, and analysis of calibration results; AND
- Experience providing leadership, guidance for quality assurance programs working on cross-functional teams.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
