You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT (N6) of COMPATWING ELEVEN.

Duties

You will provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues. You will be responsible for the overall implementation and operation of an Information Assurance program. You will implement SOP to ensure all IT assets are identified and accounted for. You will exercise technical and administrative supervision over both military and civilian personnel in the IT department to include daily operations, evaluation and overall department management. You will report and document all security related events.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain/maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI/SSBI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722 Info Sys Security Manager, proficiency level Intermediate.
  • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain work role code 722 Info Sys Security Manager, proficiency level Intermediate qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

To qualify for a GS-13, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and extensive knowledge of current Information Assurance principles, methods, procedures, and practices, and protecting Information technology resources in accordance within Federal/DOD/DON guidelines. Experience applying, advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as: develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services. Experience applying asset inventory management and tracking methodologies sufficient to minimize inefficient use of IT assets. Experience, knowledge of, and skill in applying NMCI and Navy tools such as Information Strike Force (ISF) Tools, Department of the Navy Application Database and Management System (DADMS), Requirement to Award Process (RAP) Tool, and the Navy Enterprise Tool (NET) sufficient to input, request, maintain or move computer resources and data. Experience applying project management principles, methods, and practices including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements, defining milestones and deliverables, monitoring activities, and evaluating and reporting on accomplishments. AND Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Examples of demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Implement policies, standards and regulations. 2. Customer Service - provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues. 3. Oral Communication - Present briefings and conduct conferences, meetings and training sessions. 4. Problem Solving - Provide definite technical and management conclusions.
