About the Position: The Food Service Worker supports patient meal services by preparing and transporting food trays. Work is primarily performed in a kitchen setting with long periods of standing and walking. The position requires a variety of shifts to include morning, evening, and weekend work. The position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Clinical Support, Nutrition Care, Fort Moore, GA.

Duties

Arrange completed food trays on carts for transport to wards. Prepare individual and bulk nourishments for patients. Arrange food items on patient trays according to menus for regular or modified diets. Collect carts after each meal for dishwashing.

Danger of slipping on freshly mopped floors or on floors where food has been spilled. Danger of cuts or serious burns due to exposure to hot liquids, sharp blades, and hot surfaces. Exposed to constant temperature changes when going from kitchen to refrigerators and freezers. Work area has adequate lighting.
