Duties
You will serve as a NSWC Crane Physical Security Specialist.
You will apply requirements for designing, constructing, accrediting, equipping (technically and otherwise), and securing government and contracted facilities to guard against unauthorized access both on and off the installation.
You will review MILCON, Special Projects and renovations to ensure Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) compliance.
You will implement/manage Risk Assessment process.
You will inspect, analyze, and evaluate security systems.
You will develop and implement plans to mitigate vulnerabilities.
You will conduct assessments on vulnerabilities on facilities to determine the level of risk.
You will develop and recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures in operational and non-operational situations.
You will develop and maintain any required exemptions and waivers pertaining to physical security.
You will research and utilize knowledge of commonly applied concepts, principles and practices to help develop and issue written procedures and policies in the form of supplemental guidance, operating instructions, procedures, plans and directives.
You will administer/develop security awareness and training concerned with physical security.
You will work in developing statements of need, descriptions of work, and other considerations relating to the security requirements under a contractual arrangement.
You will coordinate with other security program managers to ensure unity of effort and messages across security division.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band, NT-03 (GS-09/10) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting and applying security policies and procedures to identify and mitigate security threats for an Operational or Industrial Security program.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
