You will serve as a PROJECT RADIATION EXPOSURE SPECIALIST in the Nuclear Production Division C300N, Operations Department C300 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will assist the Project Superintendent in ensuring the project team complies with the exposure reduction requirements. Establish radiation exposure goals for the work performed in radiation and high radiation areas. You will investigate and develop improvements to project nuclear work to support the radiation exposure reduction program. You will maintain and issue metrics that monitor project performance and suggest corrective action. Ensure new work is properly estimated and tracked. You will perform periodic formal reviews on the status of exposure reduction within the project and recommend actions for improvement. You will prepare project man-rem internal control price (ICP) reports and assist the APS-N with scheduling and conduct of the man-rem ICP meetings.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing and investigating radiological operational issues to develop or improve safety net on nuclear work for an industrial facility radiation exposure reduction program.
