You will serve as a PROJECT RADIATION EXPOSURE SPECIALIST in the Operations Department - Code 300, Nuclear Production Manager - Code 300N of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will investigate and develops improvements to project nuclear work in order to support the radiation exposure reduction program.
You will establish radiation exposure goals for the work performed in radiation and high radiation areas on a project.
You will ensure all know work on the project that involves radiation exposure is accounted for in exposure estimates for the projects.
You will maintain and issues metrics that monitor project performance and suggest corrective action.
You will provide continuous evaluation of nuclear work in progress to identify radiation exposure problems.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete all necessary radiological, nuclear and non-nuclear training, and meet all established physical requirements for the position.
Qualifications
For the GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying the concepts, principles, and techniques of the naval nuclear propulsion program to evaluate nuclear/radiological projects for radiation exposure issues and to develop exposure improvements in an effort to reduce radiation exposure in accordance with the exposure reduction program.
For the GS-11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying the concepts, principles, and techniques of the naval nuclear propulsion program to evaluate nuclear/radiological projects for radiation exposure issues and collaborate with senior specialists to develop exposure improvements in an effort to reduce radiation exposure in accordance with the exposure reduction program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.
