This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division, Office of Resource Management. This position(s) primary purpose is to research and analyze status of funds; oversees and manages the certification of obligations process; develops and maintains training initiatives related to funds control management; and provides audit liaison as well as technical guidance for implementing audit recommendations pertaining to budgetary financial analysis.

Duties

As a your typical work assignments may include: Providing technical financial analysis support, liaison and coordination for DEA's annual audit and review of financial audit recommendations and requirements. Serving as a senior financial analyst with control over continuing analysis of essential plans, actions and accomplishments to achieve compliance. Providing technical and procedural direction and guidance for certifying obligations for a significant organizational component or to fulfill multi-year objectives for a program. Advising for DEA policies and issues pertaining to financial analysis for DEA and fulfills multi-year objectives.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement. If you are qualifying based on education or if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcripts with your application. Applicants applying for the GS-14 must meet one of the following requirements: Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical advice on defining problem areas for a comprehensive analysis of the overall financial management programs, operations, and activities; 2) Analyzing organizational programs in order to develop, recommend, and implement budgetary and financial policies; 3) Implementing business processes improvement into current financial management process, policy and procedures to support projects and management processes to prepare long-range and short-range planning guidance in accordance with broad agency program policies and objectives. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
