This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a Supervisory Financial Management Specialist in the DSCA Comptroller, Financial Integration and Systems (FI&S) and is recognized as the senior technical authority to apply financial and data analytical theories and principles to effectively plan and engage in response to DSCA issues and priorities.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Supervisory Financial Management Specialist in the DSCA Comptroller, Financial Integration and Systems (FI&S) and is recognized as the senior technical authority to apply financial and data analytical theories and principles to effectively plan and engage in response to DSCA issues and priorities. Manages and enforces financial controls for programs and budget processes to ensure compliance with the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) and DSCA's financial guidance. Manages, plans, implements, monitors, evaluates, and operates DSCA accounting and finance systems. Oversees the preparation and implementation of financial systems training in order to improve performance of the (Security Cooperation) SC financial management community and to ensure the community remains informed of relevant changes in the regulatory environment.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the Gs-15 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Overseeing financial, budget. data or accounting systems to optimize data accuracy and transparency Utilizing data analytics to provide insights that support resource management, budget execution, and strategic decision-making Managing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, or operating DoD accounting and finance systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
