This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for evaluating organizational structures, business processes, resource requirements, performance measures and evaluation criteria.
Duties
As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Evaluating and improving business and financial practices, structure and processes across very large, complex organizations executing financial operations.
Leading and implementing high-impact and complex strategic improvement initiatives that cut across organizational business areas and financial lines of effort.
Managing implementation of enterprise-wide and agency-specific strategic initiatives.
Providing recommendations for improving the business practices of the Agency, based upon comprehensive analysis of present operations and organizational structure.
Advising on fiscal policy interpretation, precedents, and impact of changes on agency.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Conducting strategic level planning and analysis of business improvements relating to financial management policy
Modifying long range budget plans in accordance with changes in program goals and/or policy
Preparing narrative and statistical evidence and justification in support of improving financial operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
