Duties
As a Budget Analyst, you will:
Plan, organize, and carries out a major, substantive budget for a significant program component, ensuring the effective integration of program and budget planning.
Provide advice to top management on the Federal budget process. May develop, recommend, and implement budgetary policies affecting the financing and accomplishment of national programs.
Review and/or prepare budget schedules and related financial documentation related to presentation of Office of Administration's Budget.
Prepare briefing materials and develop data required for use during congressional hearings. Assist in responding to routine budget-related inquiries submitted by the congressional staff, public interest groups, the press, and private individual.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Performing review and analysis of financial reports, budget requests, or other budget-related information; AND
-Writing and editing documents for public presentation, including budget justifications, reports to Congress, or other published documents; AND
-Working closely with program administrators and financial managers to estimate funding requirements; AND
-Managing projects involving the collection and presentation of information from multiple sources
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
