About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Transportation Readiness and Mobilization Specialist reporting to the G37 Chief, Exercises, Readiness, and Training Division. Incumbent performs a variety of duties in support of Command-wide training and readiness.

Duties

Develops and manages SDDC’s input into the Joint Training System (JTS) in accordance with the Joint Training Manual for the Armed Forces of the United States. Provides technical expertise for the four JTS phases: 1) Requirements; 2) Plans; 3) Execution; and 4) Assessment. Provides guidance to Command leadership and SDDC-aligned Active and Reserve Component units regarding improvement of their training programs. Utilizes databases and established systems (i.e., Defense Training Management System (DTMS)) to track mandatory training for Command military and functional civilian personnel, Command-wide for the Semi-Annual Operations and Training Briefings. Responsible for reviewing and updating proposed and existing joint and Army-specific regulations/publications related to SDDC training and exercises. Conducts analysis to determine the need for new or updated doctrine. Coordinates with SDDC Headquarters staff sections and aligned Active and Reserve Component units regarding periodic submission of training readiness metrics.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
