This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for exercising second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Household Goods (HHG), Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), and Storage Management Branches within the Operations Division of the Defense Personal Property Management Office (DPMO).
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST at the GS-2101-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Operations Division, ensuring the Household Goods (HHG), Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), and Storage Management programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Develops goals and objectives to direct the activities of the Operations Division to integrate organizational, HHG, POV and Storage program objectives across internal, Department of Defense (DoD), Federal, and industry partner systems.
Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.
Represents DPMO at meetings involving the Joint Staff, OSD, Services, and agencies, to establish, refine, and implement the design, implementation, and sustainment of the DP3, with focus on continuous program and customer service improvement.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Researches, interprets, analyzes, and applies transportation and traffic management policies and procedures for making recommendations for enhancements to HHG, POV and Storage programs.
Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with high-ranking military officials, employees, and representatives of other Federal agencies and/or private industry.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
