This position is part of the Security and Intelligent Documents, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia
Duties
Cleaning and maintaining a safe work area.
Loading and unloading work on skids, table, machines, or trucks
Hand wrapping, tying, packing, labelling, and sealing cartons, boxes, pamphlets, and packages
Packing shipments per instructions via packing slips and recording into a log.
Operating various paper jogging, stitching and banding equipment. while inspecting, using gauges, and collating work
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required.
- Selectee must successfully pass preemployment conditions of employment prior to appointment.
- Selectee must pass a background check prior to appointment.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Suitability Security Clearance.
- Physical - Effort: Duties require prolonged standing and walking whileoperating machines or other related duties. Will have to take physical
strength test and requires moderate lifting up to 65 pounds
- Working Conditions: Duties are performed in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated area production plant environment.
Qualifications
This announcement will be open for 365 days(Standing Register) with established cut-off dates; which allows acceptance of applications through the closing date of the announcement or until 300 applications have been received, whichever occurs first.
The intent of this announcement is to establish a standing register of qualified candidates and refer for consideration when vacancies occur.
Applications will be referred based on receipt of applications and established cut-off dates as follows:
1st Cut-off: December 04, 2024 or when 100 applications have been reached, whichever occurs first.
Additional cut-ff dates will be establish based on business unit's needs.
Final Cut Off and Closing date: November 18, 2025, or when 300 applications have been reached, whichever occurs first.

To qualify for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element, JOB ELEMENT 1, Ability to do the work of a Printing Plant Worker (Security Room)(Screenout), without more than normal supervision to be considered eligible for the position. Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of this position. These duties require: packing, labeling, loading, stacking, and inspecting printed material for quality while maintaining a clean and safe work area. to be considered for this position.
