District of Columbia.
Duties
Assigns tasks to PPW's, PPW Shredder Operator, PPW Material Handlers, and PPW floor personnel.
Checks work in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instruction on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
Operates material handling forklift trucks to move materials and completed work to and from storage areas, equipment, delivery platforms in the Press and Bindery and Secure Quality Inventory areas.
Observes safety regulations and ensures PPW's are adhering to safety regulations,
Operates a PC for retrieving and generating data.t Duties in this section
Requirements
- You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Working conditions: Duties are performed in a press production environment where there is exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, ink mist, odors/fumes, spray powder and paper dust. Work is performed indoors.
- Phyical Effort: Ability to lift 60 lbs., standing, stooping, bending, reaching, turning or moving hands, feet and legs. Moving Heavier items with material handling equipment.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Printing Plant Work Leader, KA - 4401 - 00 , you must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element #73: Ability to Lead or Supervise as a PPW Leader (SCREEN-OUT), to be considered for this position. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the online questionnaire. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT ELEMENT below is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The screen-out element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise as a PPW Leader (SCREEN OUT). These duties include :
Assigning tasks to floor personnel in Press and Bindery area;
Training new and present personnel with proper work methods and processes;
Reviewing work while in progress and when finished to assure instructions have been met.
Inventorying all materials and supplies to ensure there is proper amount available.
