About the Position: Serves as a Team Lead Security Specialist for the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, Security Division, in support of the Chief of Security in the execution of multidiscipline security programs.
Duties
Coordinate program effort with other internal activities or with the activities of the different organizations.
Provide expert and authoritative guidance and recommendations to the Security Division Chief for all INFOSEC-related matters.
Maintain close liaison throughout the G-3/5/7, and requisite INFOSEC-related personnel and offices across the Department of the Army, Department of Defense, and Intelligence Community, and makes persuasive recommendations.
Serve as the G-3/5/7 primary point of contact for the Information Disclosure Program and serves as the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program manager IAW AR 380-5 and DoDI 5200.48.
Serve as the Technical Countermeasures SME and implement security measures IAW AR 380-27.
Serve as a Classification Management Officer, manages programs, reviews, and coordinates classification and declassification decisions for HQDA DCS G-3/5/7.
Assist and advise the Security Division Chief in enforcing rules governing the access, determination, reproduction, transmission, transportation, safeguarding, and destruction of classified and sensitive material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first year of employment.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.

GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Manage and implement all aspects of an Information Security program to include policies, procedures, and requirements established under appropriate authorities to protect information that, if subject to unauthorized disclosure could be reasonably expected to cause harm to national security; manage the Classification Management requirements for classifying, marking, redacting, handling, transporting, and safeguarding protected information and/or classified information; assist in managing a Foreign Disclosure Program to include implementing policies, procedures, and requirements established under appropriate authorities to protect Classified Military Information (CMI), and Unclassified information; and manage and lead a team of security specialists through various complex security matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
