About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located with Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army G-2; Counterintelligence, HUMINT, Security and Foreign Disclosure Directorate at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serve as Chief Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Continuous Vetting (CV) Branch for the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA).
Coordinate, collaborate, and advocate with executive-level Department of Defense (DoD), intelligence community, and partner organizations for Army PERSEC and CV equities.
Serve as the lead for PERSEC and CV policy for the Headquarters, Department of the Army (DA).
Serve the Secretary of the Army as the final appellate authority PERSONNEL SECURITY APPEALS BOARD (PSAB).
Responsible for the development, guidance, interpretation, and clarification regarding the Army’s PERSEC and CV programs.
Equitably assign work among employees and provide expert direction for the analytical agenda; adjust workloads and assignments and adapt or modify procedures to mitigate backlogs or delays.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) formulating agency policy on processes that determine eligibilities for security clearances of individuals; AND 2) developing a personnel security program for an agency that grants personnel access to classified information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-14).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
