About the Position: Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) two years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. (temp promotion)
Duties
Plans and coordinates major meetings, conferences, seminars, demonstrations, symposia, tours, and formal visits for 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum.
Analyzes and interprets funding requirements for official events and ensures the legal and ethical use or official representation funds (ORF). Custodian for ORF inventory.
Updates and maintains the community and military database ensuring it is accurate and reflects the Commanding Generals intent.
Provides guidance to military units and civilian community on all aspects of protocol.
Reviews office procedures and makes recommendations to more efficiently execute standard administrative procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will work alternative schedules, evenings, and weekends as directed.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state issued drivers license.
- This is an obligated position.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 5 years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance, assistance, and execution of special and official events, ceremonies, and visits with dignitaries and distinguished guests, preparing documents for approval and review by senior leadership, establishing lodging arrangements for attendees, and assisting with analysis of cost data for budget projection and the official representation funds (ORF) and government purchase card holder and ORF inventory custodian. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
