About the Position: This position serves as Executive Officer for the Fort Drum Medical Activity (MEDDAC) and principal assistant to the Commander/Director performing a wide variety of administrative, logistical, personnel management, document control, and integration activities in support of the Command group of the MEDDAC. This position is located at Fort Drum, New York.
Duties
Perform a wide variety of administrative, logistical, personnel management, document control, automation and integration activities in support of the command group of the United States Army (USA) Medical Activity (MEDDAC).
Provides guidance in support of administration associated with the MEDDAC strategic mission.
Performs overall planning and implementation of plans for the assigned organization by analyzing mission requirements, establishing initiatives, and developing current and long-range plans, projects, and operating schedules for the command.
Serves as an advisor and assists the Command Staff with all Division elements within the Command on issues that arise.
Coordinates assigned functions with managers/supervisors to discuss work-related changes affecting their area and provide authoritative recommendations on possible improvements.
Supervises and provides oversight to staff offices.
Provides technical advice and administrative guidance regarding objectives, policies, procedures, problem resolution, and coordination of administrative activities as appropriate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
