About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Supervise a staff of employees engaged in the research, planning, programming, budgeting, executing, and evaluating programs in support of fielding of new material systems to the 10th Mountain Division.
Provide technical guidance and assistance to the Division G3 regarding formulation of policies, plans, programming, and resourcing force integration.
Formulate and recommend establishment, continuation, or revisions of plans, policies, and programming.
Plan schedules to ensure proper distribution of work and deadlines are met.
Prepare plans to meet substantial changes in workload and propose revisions in staffing levels, priorities, and/or deadlines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
- May be required to work shift work to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Supervisory probationary period required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Fielding new material systems implementation for a large organization to include research, budgeting, and program evaluation; 2) Preparing impact analysis of new materials fielding to include cost benefit analysis to share with other involved organizations or higher echelons; 3) Publishing results of conducted analysis with information papers or formal/informal presentations to multiple stakeholders and defend recommended courses of action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
