About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC). The incumbent is involved with all phases of the budget and performs analytical, technical, and administrative duties involving budget formulation, presentation, and execution.
Duties
Prepare annual funding for one or more years to project cost of current programs of activities.
Maintain control of funds by imposing restrictions to prevent over obligation.
Prepare periodic budget execution reports to identify the costs and benefits of actions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Financial management level 2 certificate is required for this position.
- One year probation required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: executing multiple phases of the budget formulation process (i.e. fund certification, allocating funds, tracking expenses); evaluating the accuracy of data to prepare financial reports; ensuring obligations are handled in accordance with policies and procedures; and utilize established financial management system to research and analyze budget data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
