About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position with the Directorate of Human Resources at Fort Jackson, SC.
Duties
Serves as a program manager for assigned Human Resources (HR) program elements.
Maintains knowledge of current developments and technologies, which may serve to improve management and administrative processes in, assigned information management program elements.
Manage the installation Official Mail Program and the Official Mail and Distribution Center. Supervises daily operations of the Official Mail and Distribution Center.
Provides control, supervision, and policy guidance related to publications management, official mail control, postal management, distribution management, etc.
Serves as Privacy Act/Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator.
Serves as USAG Records Manager and garrison management information program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one-year supervisory probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Position may require occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Management of the installation Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program; (2) Management of the Installation Official Mail and Postal operations to include postage expenditures and postal training requirements; (3) Training employees on organizational policies, procedure, and records management; (4) Preparing and/or conducting briefings or presentations; (5) Utilizing automated systems to prepare reports; and (6) Safeguarding critical information through records keeping and monitoring privacy act and information requests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
