This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Work with the Installation Senior Commander Lead SARC and command staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program.
Duties
Conduct training on sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Conduct response duties in the event of a sexual harassment complaint or sexual assault.
Mentor victim advocates assigned to unit.
Input sexual assault and sexual harassment data into appropriate system of record to coordinate care.
Emphasize the commitment to maintain a workplace environment that rejects sexual harassment and sexual assault and attitudes that promote such behaviors.
Coordinate care for complainants and sexual assault victims to ensure they receive the appropriate and responsive care.
Maintain working relationships with outside offices to facilitate immediate response and accurate reporting of sexual assault incidents.
Track services provided to victims of sexual assault from initial report of sexual assault through disposition and resolution.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle should the need arise to operate a government vehicle/motor pool vehicle.
- May be subject to occasional 24/7 on-call SARC responsibilities.
- The selectee must successfully complete the 6-week SHARP Career Course within 6-months of employment. Failure to obtain the DOD certification within the six months may be grounds for removal.
- This position requires a Secret security clearance.
- The duties of this position may require the incumbent to work evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends to include modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting response efforts for victims of sexual harassment or sexual assault; educating the servicing population on the Sexual Harassment/ Assault Response Prevention (SHARP) program and/or services available; providing direct victim assistance and advocacy services; serving as a member of a Sexual Assault Review Board. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Psychology or Sociology.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
