About the Position: This position is located at the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistic Readiness Center, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Participate in inventories of stock on hand as required.
Operate motor vehicles and forklifts capable of lifting in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Receive and /or process incoming shipments from supported customer units or commercial shipments.
Palletize and/or assemble items in temporary storage area for issue or further distribution to appropriate storage area.
Perform warehousing duties such as receipt, storage, issue, and shipment of items ranging from general supply items to repairs parts, heavy equipment, weapons, sensitive, classified, and communication items.
Receive requests for issue or shipment of supplies and equipment.
Determine docking area for off-loading.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid CDL license with HAZMAT endorsement.
- Employee shall be required to pass and maintain forklift-certification and driving test.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing. Continued below...

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator)~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Materials Handler (Forklift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) tasks which involve performing common warehouse operations. I can 1) receive, store, and issue a wide variety of supplies and equipment; and 2) unload, inspect, and tally stock to assure quantities and types of items agree with shipping documents. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas requiring standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds and to occasionally handle items over 70 pounds. Assistance is available in lifting heavier items.
Working Conditions: Primarily works inside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting and overturning loads.
