About the Position: The position is located at US Army Garrison, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility 7 Security, Ft. Moore, GA, which is 100 miles south of ATL and is adjacent to Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL The geography and climate are ideal for year-round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.
Duties
Serve as Senior staff Director for training, plans and operations, airfield, ranges, training support center, and security on a large, multi-functional Tier 3 CONUS-based installation.
Provide strategic vision and operational management for nine Installation Services.
Manage the staff coordination for 141K maneuver training acres, 86 live fire ranges and 300 training areas to support ~115 ranges and training area events daily.
Provide guidance for general support to the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) and the Armor and Infantry Schools, and FORSCOM (1st SFAB), USASOC (two Battalions and HQs for 75th Ranger Regt), MEDCOM, and various USAR and ARNG units/activities.
Execute the planning, coordination, and execution for multiple force protection no-notice events annually; includes annual All Hazards Full Scale Exercise.
Execute the installation’s mobilization mission (Power Projection Platform, MFGI, APOE/APOD, etc.).
Manage a "tailored Emergency Operations Center" to monitor / manage crisis events and mitigate risk to the Installation.
Manage the Garrison’s personnel security programs; includes security clearance applications for processing to the DOD Consolidated Adjudication Services (CAS).
Requirements
- Supervisory probation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes supervising both civilian and military personnel. Performs the full range of human resource management duties. Interfaces directly with the Installation's Senior Commanders. Provides technical oversight of installation level operations and training support services Develops an organizational vision. Aligns organizational strategic goals and performance objectives to successfully complete assigned missions. Applies the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), Lean Six Sigma, etc., and formulates policies and strategies consistent with business plans of the Army, AMC, TRADOC, IMCOM, and a multi-functional Center of Excellence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-14.
