This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), National Finance Center (NFC) Government Employees Services Division (GESD), Mainframe Applications Directorate, Systems Requirement Branch, Section 1, located in New Orleans, LA. This is an developmental level position designed to prepare the incumbent to fully perform at the full performance level as an Information Technology Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) GS-2210-11.

Duties

Uses good and dependable judgment to analyze and evaluate requests to ensure that Standard procedures are effectively and properly applied. Participate in basic computer software briefings to research and provide guidance to employees and customers. Conducts analyses and recommending resolution of basic table management update requests and effectively communicating and documenting decision.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Recent Graduate eligibility: Completed all requirements for an associate, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two (2) years. or Individuals who, due to military service obligation, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the 2-year eligibility period described above shall have a full 2-year period of eligibility upon release or discharge from active duty. This eligibility period cannot extend more than 6 years from the date on which the requirements for the academic course of study were met. Specialized Experience: GS-05: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-4 level in Federal Service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that equipped me with the particular competencies to successfully perform as an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS): Such experience includes: 1) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 2) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and 3) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. OR Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. OR Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree that provided a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above (computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management) and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Education

Education must be reviewed and certified by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be creditable toward your qualifications.
