This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Duties

You will identify submarine officer and watch-team performance shortfalls. You will provide expert review of submarine SWS training products, lectures, and curricula. You will partner with the learning site Commanding Officers in evaluating officers taking the Qualification for Command assessment. You will attend briefs and embarks on SSBNs as necessary to maintain knowledge and proficiency in underway submarine operations. You will conduct periodic visits to SWS learning sites to assess training quality and to provide training for submarine crews and training staffs. You will provide expertise in teaching strategic training content to prospective Commanding Officers and Executive Officers in the SWS Command Replacement/Submarine Command Courses. You will serve as a Senior Advisor and Mentor for SSBN Commanding Officers in the area of Strategic Weapons System (SWS) employment.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a strategic mentor, advisor, and instructor with expertise in all aspects of submarine strategic warfare.
