You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the Maritime Electronic Warfare Division (WXM), Systems Software Engineering Branch (WXMP) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER in Norfolk, VA.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary for the NT-05 position may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $136,323.
Duties
You will be responsible for providing engineering support for Maritime Electronic Warfare (MEW) systems, primarily the AN/SLQ-32(V)1-7 systems.
You will provide software support by installing all variants of the AN/SLQ-32 (V)1-7 software as needed in test, development and production environments.
You will perform software validation, troubleshoot production and test environments for existing and future software releases.
You will lead and support junior technicians and engineers in accordance with Software Support Agent roles and responsibilities.
You will provide cybersecurity guidance/validation during integration testing and Test and Evaluation events supporting Software Support Agent roles and responsibilities.
You will provide support during initial Combat System Light-Off phase, ensuring system software and hardware meet requirements.
You will provide training software integration expertise for AN/SLQ-32 (V)6-7 including ATD, SEWTT, BFTT.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code System Administrator, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies
- You must be willing and able to work onboard ships.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering leadership and guidance in software installation, testing, or development to validate and integrate shipboard electronic warfare systems or subsystems for combat readiness and technological advancement and sustainment of the fleet.
