You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Self Defense Branch Code 293, Combat Systems (Weapons) Division Code 290, Chief Engineer Code 200A, Engineering Department Code 200 of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Duties

You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules. You will monitor and oversee the work of MARMC subject matter experts in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment. You will provide technical reviews of products and services. You will draft and issue reports addressing technical issues or concerns regarding branch assigned systems to proactively promote improvements.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing guidance and technical oversight for delivery of maintaining proper performance of shipboard systems and components for which MARMC has installation, repair and/or modernization responsibility. Experience providing technical review of products and services provided by the branch to ensure their technical and political suitability and serviceability is aligned with the customer's needs and the technical standards applicable for naval vessels. Experience communicating and collaborating with Navy's technical warrant holders (TWH), ship design managers (SDM) and in service engineering agents (ISEAs) on technical matters involving the naval systems. Experiencing drafting and issuing reports addressing technical issues or concerns regarding branch assigned systems to proactively promote improvements. Experience developing and implementing branch long term strategic objectives, and goals for the purpose of sustainment, stability, quality, capability and capacity to meet mission demands. Experience being the manage Subject Matter Experts (SME) in providing support during all phases of a ships readiness cycle.
