You will serve as a LEAD ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Communications (COMMS) Branch (Code 284), Combat Systems (Electronics) Division (Code 280), Engineering Department (Code 200), Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Duties

You will serve as coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members. You will research, learn, and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze, and improve team effectiveness, efficiency, and work products. You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports or similar problems affecting assigned equipment, frequently on temporary duty (TDY). You will lead functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of major systems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification via command sponsored CPR training and annual refresher training which is offered during working hours.
  • You will be required to perform occasional sea duty.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying exceptional communication skills both written and orally as incumbent will be responsible for articulating and communicating assignments, projects, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, deadlines, and time frames for completion to the team. Experience monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress, and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met. Experience maintaining program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant background documents, and make available policies, procedures, and written instructions from the supervisor and maintaining current knowledge to answer questions from team members on procedures, policies, directives, etc. Experience performing special engineering analyses and studies in support of Commander, Surface Forces Atlantic and Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material, etc. Experience preparing comprehensive technical reports, and when required, formal correspondence, identifying the root cause and all other significant aspects of the problem and the corrections applied. Experience understanding and interpreting plans, schematics, drawings, and specifications and makes field adjustments/modifications as required.
