You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS)/Link/Strike Branch Code 291, Combat Systems (Weapons) Division Code 290, Chief Engineer Code 200A, Engineering Department Code 200, Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will be responsible for the delivery of technical branch programs through supervision of a subordinate staff of twelve Electronics Technicians, GS-0856-12, one Electronic Engineer, GS-0855-12, nine military/contractor (GS-12 equivalents) .
You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares work completion schedules.
You will develop and evaluate subordinate employees' performance standards.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing branch long term strategic objectives, and goals for the purpose of sustainment, stability, quality, capability and capacity to meet mission demands.
You will monitor and oversee the work of MAR MC subject matter experts in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
You will provide technical review of products and services provided by the branch to ensure their technical and political suitability and serviceability is aligned with the customer's needs and the technical standards applicable for naval vessels.
You will establish and maintain metrics and measures that are aligned in support of command, department, division and branch initiatives and goals.
You will proactively engage with the Maintenance teams and the repair contractors to ensure timely and technically acceptable solutions are identified for the repair of U.S. Naval ships on systems within the branch's area of responsibility.
You will communicate and collaborate with the Navy's technical warrant holders (TWH), ship design managers (SDM) and in service engineering agents (ISEAs) on technical matters involving the naval systems under his/her cognizance
You will convey technical information to appropriate levels of management both within and outside of MARMC.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience, training, skill and in-depth knowledge of electronic systems for navigation, STRIKE, SSDS, and DATA Link systems, and all of their associated equipment.
Experience providing guidance and technical oversight for delivery of maintaining proper performance of shipboard systems and components for which MARMC has installation, repair and/or modernization responsibility.
Experience displaying exceptional communication abilities to effectively, both orally and in writing to prepare and present reports, interpret policies and guidelines, provide advice, guidance to customers and to negotiate solutions to problems.
Experience creating an inclusive work place that fosters equal employment, developing and mentoring, instilling cooperation, teamwork and resolves conflicts to inspire people to meet the organization's vision, mission and goals.
Experience assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees, and ensure subordinates have the capabilities and resources to accomplish their tasks.
Experience being the manage Subject Matter Experts (SME) in providing support during all phases of a ships readiness cycle.
