About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), Brigade (BDE), BDE HQ's Support Element. The purpose of this position is to support the Headquarters Company Commander by performing various military human resources administrative support duties.

Duties

Perform a wide range of military HR actions in support of BDE HQs military personnel. Maintain a control log whereby leave and passes are tracked. Advise BDE on status of assigned HR actions, issues encountered, and recommends solutions, when appropriate. Performs mailroom duties to include receiving, sorting, and distributing mail.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to be a qualified typist and able to type at least 40 words per minute (40 WPM).
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete US Postal Services postal operations training.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources Management or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Human Resources Technology UsagePersonnel and Human ResourcesSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
