About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Assistant (Military) and serves military personnel administrative support functions to the Outlying Clinics, part of the Medical Readiness Command, East, IPPS-A with responsibility for monitoring, managing, reviewing, verifying, and coordinating military personnel information and documents, and for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all transactions. Located: KIMBROUGH AMBULATORY CARE CENTER-HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION, FT MEADE, MD.
Duties
Serve as a technical point of contact on questions regarding regulations, polices, practices and theories as it pertains to military programs such as officer/enlisted promotions, evaluations, military retirements and leave programs.
Provide technical guidance to command and supported unit soldiers; process actions in final form.
Instruct military personnel on local in/out-processing procedures for assigned and attached military, civilian and contractor personnel.
Receive and answer in writing, and telephonically with respect to personnel actions, administration of the program, and to give and receive general information.
Validate, assist, and resolve problems in support of pre-retirement services and processing procedures.
Assist with strength accountability, slotting management, officer and enlisted requisition coordination and input, and reporting of officers and enlisted Soldiers assigned to the organization.
Requirements
- This position may require the employee to operate government vehicles and therefore may be subject to meeting all requirements for a military vehicle operator's license, to include completing and passing the Army Accident-Avoidance Course
- This position requires that the employee possesses a current and valid state driver's license.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- A one-year probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- This position requires travel away from duty station, TDY 10%. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) Reviewing documents to ensure they are complete and/or accurate; 2) Retrieving data from various information systems to prepare correspondence for final review; and 3) Using automated military records software systems to input and extract data pertaining to personnel.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
