About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), SE Health Care Recruiting Station at Fort Meade, MD. USAREC is responsible for manning both the Active Army and the U.S. Army Reserve, ensuring security and readiness for our Nation. Serves as a Human Resources Assistant for a Health Care Recruiting Team (HCRT), whose primary mission is to recruit health care professionals for appointment into the US Army (Active and/or Reserve).

Duties

Serve as a point contact for applicants, and other parties, interested in Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Personnel Procurement Programs. Prepare request and correspondents, regarding Army Medical Department (AMEDD), recruitment and educational programs. Evaluate potential applicant information to assist in recruiting health care professionals into the U.S. Army. Collect potential applicant documents from multiple military systems to determine qualifications and eligibility, and process applications. Verify pre-credentialing of health care providers with appropriate local, state and national accrediting bodies, boards and/or commissions Serve as the applicant's point-of-contact and source of guidance throughout the recruitment process, such as, arranging the physical examination and/or coordinating required professional interviews for the applicant. Use personal computer to prepare correspondence, forms, reports, graphs, charts, etc.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes: 1) Processing personnel actions; 2) Maintaining personnel records; AND 3) Utilizing human resources automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as, Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
