About the Position: Serves as a Plans Specialist at Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS). Responsible for the development and coordination of contingency and operation plans for the installation.

Duties

As an Operations Specialist, you are responsible for the following duties: Formulate, develop and coordinate current and long range plans and planning policies relating to operations, installation readiness, domestic and defense emergencies, military assistance to civil authorities and continuity of essential functions. Prepare senior level briefings on classified and sensitive areas. Monitors the execution of emergency and contingency plans. Advise on all aspects of policy, planning, review and research as related to military plans and protection. Assist with coordinating, scheduling, and conducting rehearsals or tests of installation plans.

  • This position subject to recall and irregular tour of duty which may include evenings, weekends and holidays in support of mission requirements.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • The nature of the work may require unscheduled and extended duty hours. Incumbent will be required to be on-call with a rotational schedule.

OR Education: A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
