This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Policy Office (PO), Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), Management Unit (PMU). BJA's mission is to provide leadership and services in grant administration and criminal justice policy development to support state, local, and tribal justice strategies to achieve safer communities.
Duties
Create framework for corrections, Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) program models, and solicitations.
Offer strategic advice and support to address, implement, or manage issues related to corrections and PREA programs, particularly those involving significant uncertainty in approach or methodology, within designated criminal justice program areas.
Act as an expert in corrections and PREA implementation, providing insights for development and management of grants and cooperative agreements.
Compile reports and working documents focused on complex issues within significant corrections and PREA implementation programs.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Serving as a subject matter expert managing, evaluating, and monitoring corrections, re-entry, or justice reform programs.
Serving as a subject matter expert managing PREA implementation or PREA oversight programs.
Formulating guidelines, implementing new developments, and providing policy interpretation for corrections, re-entry, or justice reform programs.
Serving as a technical expert in corrections, re-entry, or justice reform grants and/or cooperative agreements.
Technical Qualifications:
Applicants who meet the basic entry and minimum qualification requirements, as described above, will be further evaluated on the following technical qualifications:
Knowledge of laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing corrections, reentry, and justice reform programs.
Oral Communication
Provide advice and guidance on corrections and reentry program policies and guidelines.
