You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Operations Branch of the Facilities and Support Services Divison (FSSD) of DON/AA.
Duties
You will provide professional support in the development, monitoring and execution of physical security programs for building assigned to the DON, to include: survey, installation and repair of locking devices, and establishing security procedures.
You will evaluate findings to prepare repots listing recommendations necessary to provide the desired degree of security.
You will maintain locking devices, including those sophisticated and complex devices prescribed for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (i.e. mortise locks, rim locks, combination locks).
You will maintain a fully equipped locksmith shop in the Pentagon, including a stock of locks access control devices, key blanks, spare parts for rebuilding locks, and equipped with tools and machinery.
You will establish and administer master key programs used in pinning up locks and cutting keys for Navy offices in the pentagon.
Requirements

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to recall 24/7.
- This position requires the employee to carry a Government cell phone and respond to work-related calls received on 24 hours, 7 days a week basis.
- This position requires the employee to maintain a government vehicle for transport to all Navy locations with equipment throughout the NCR.
- This position requires the employee to use a micro purchase card for the purchase of equipment, supplies and when required, outside contractor locksmith report for emergency situations.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with state-of-the-art in intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, personnel entry control systems, security measures applicable to asset protection and loss prevention.
Experience with a wide range of security concepts, to include principles and practices to review independently, analyze, resolve difficult and complex physical security problems.
Experience reading, understanding, and evaluating site/facility engineering drawings for potential security deficiencies.
Experience with design and implement installation security systems for new facilities.
Experience with understanding applicable security regulations including DoD Regulation 5200.1-R, Administrative Instruction 26, and DCID 1-21.
Experience with the ability to analyze and evaluate any security device or locking hardware problem and proceed in the most cost effective and timely manner to correct the situation.
Experience with use of lock pick devices, security container drilling, saw rigs, bore scopes and have the ability to impression on hand fit keys to locks.
Experience with the operation and use of the various hand and power tools that are used in the performance of the job.
Experience with regulations regarding security of documents and an astute awareness of the impact of compromise involving National Security.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with technical, information, physical security, and locksmith support to the Department of the Navy (DON) organizations.
Experience with intrusion detection systems and devices, safes and other storage containers, locks and locking systems, personnel entry control systems, security measures applicable to
asset protection and loss prevention.
Experience with a wide variety of security locks and devices.
Experience collaborating with the supervisor in the development of deadlines, and approaches to particular or sensitive problems.
Experience with the operation and use of the various hand and power tools that are used in the performance of the job.
Experience with regulations regarding security of documents and an astute awareness of the impact of compromise involving National Security.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
